Blue Moose Rafting Guides have a combined experience of over 75 years on the water fishing with people. Each guide as a minimum of 4 years of working knowledge behind the oars prior to taking clients and must pass our rigorous standards to meet our clients needs. Our guides are all Damon Sponsored.

Owner / Guide Richard “Moose” Mousseau has been fishing in Alaska since 1989 from Chignik to Prudhoe Bay however growing up in Michigan he has chased Trout and Salmon for over 30 years. He has spent that last 12 years float fishing the Gulkana, Klutina, and Chena Rivers with over 4000 hours of stick time behind the oars. Moose has taught custom rod building for the past 15 years, instructed Fly Tying for the past 20 years as well as providing fishing seminars from Anchorage to Fairbanks. He has created fly patterns, and commercial tied for Orvis, Hook & Hackle and the AuSable Fly Shop. |

Owner / Guide Mike Boy has been fishing in Alaska for the past 14 years and runs our Drift Boat operations on the Kenai. Mike is on of the top young guides concerning the use egg patterns, and flesh flies on the Kenai. His dedication to ensuring client success is admirable. Mike is an establish fly tier and rod builder and has many innovated ideas. He is a certified Kenai guide and has attended the Kenai College of Fisheries Guide Program. |

Chief Guide Brandon “Cookie” Otts Brandon is one of the TOP Guides concerning salmon fishing in the state. Brandon has been chasing King Salmon his entire life and with most aspects of being an outdoorsman most people think he was addicted to fishing we like to think of his obsession to ensuring client success as normal behavior. Brandon had 100 percent hook up rate in 2006 for clients and King Salmon with a 95% boat rate i.e. those fish brought to shore. Brandon is currently completing his degree in fisheries biology through the University of Alaska Fairbanks. |

Guide Greg Schaffer has been in Alaska for over 10 years and lives just off the Chena River. Greg loves to Kayak, Raft , camp and fish. He is Swift Water Rescue Certified and assist in the training of guides who float fish or provide rafting expeditions. Greg runs most of our upper Chena River operations and spends over 200 hours per year enjoying our local rivers. |

Guide Tom Schultz is easy going and has a taste for white water rafting, fishing and camping. Tom has spent the past four years working under our tutelage and has excelled.

Guide Eli Grossman aka “Man Child“, born, raised and cut his teeth on fishing and rafting the Cooper River Valley to include the Delta Junction area. Eli has been working with us from the age of 15 and has developed into one of our most dedicated guides. His work ethic and knowledge are always evident and clients provide nothing but positive feedback concerning their adventure with Eli. |

Assistant Guide Jake Mousseau “Little Moose. Jake has been fishing , and camping on the Gulkana from age 10 giving him 8 years of fishing the upper and lower Gulkana River. Jake has been running clients from the age of 15 and has knowledge beyond his years. Last year Jake had 100 percent client hook up rate with 90 percent of the fish to shore. He has over 1000 hours of rafting time behind the oars and enjoys White Water rafting as well as the Upper Gulkana River |

Assistant Guide Kevin “Bear” Badger Kevin is our Utility guide and serves as Camp operations master, Launch and Recovery guru and all around assistant. Kevin can be found on most days below the Richardson highway Bridge assisting us and other people fishing or gathering rafts for the next trip. If you find your-self on the Lower Gulkana stop in and visit Kevin he is always willing to share a cup of coffee and talk about fishing and water conditions. |
