The Chena River is considered one of the "Premier" Grayling fisheries in the state, and is located just north of Fairbanks. It has many access points and is fished heavily from the road. Float fishing this river allows you to reach those fish that are not pressured on a daily basis, and Grayling over 16 inches are common with some fish reaching the 20 inch range. Its many tributaries and clear water make it an excellent stream and its friendly flow makes for a beautiful float. There are many campgrounds along Chena Hot Springs Road, which makes this a favorite day trip among visitors to the Fairbanks area. We offer trips starting at 4 hours and have overnight trips available. We also offer a inflatable Kayak raft support trip where we provide a guide, Camping and Fishing equipment, Dinner, excellent fishing, and you paddle your way down the river at your own pace. Each trip is customized to meet your needs, and prices vary depending on those needs. We prefer to keep each rafting trip to a maximum of six people, and each Kayaking trip to a maximum of 12 people. Each kayak can hold 2 people.
If you have never fly fished for Grayling this is a must trip. All grayling are catch and release. We have a reproduction special for those wanting to mount their fish.
